Open Gold Expedition - suitable as either a practice or assessed expedition

What is included:

• Comprehensive pre-expedition pack including parents information and kit lists

• Supervision and training from experienced instructors

• Use of all group kit – tents, stoves, fuel, group shelters, maps and compasses

• Accredited assessor for the qualifying expedition

• Campsite fees

Participants will plan and complete a 4-day self-sufficient journey in the area of their choice. At the start of the expedition, participants will be split in accordance with their award level (practice or assessment) and allocated to a team.

Practice participants - will receive further input from the instructional team to complete the DofE training framework.

Assessed participants - will complete planning, pre-assessment checks and mandatory safety training before starting their journey.

No prior route planning is required for this course. At Gold level, the first day of each course has been designed to facilitate planning, training and teambuilding.
